The 55 % of Türk Telekom shares have been
transfered to Ojer Telekomünikasyon A.Ş.
The shareholders agreement and share pledge
agreement were signed.
As per the Ojer Telekomünikasyon A.Ş. (a
consortium led by Saudi Oger and Telecom Italia)
has made the initial payment of 1.31 billion USD,
of the total bid price worth 6.55 billion USD,
the closing ceremony of the Türk Telekom block
sale took place on November 14, 2005.
The closing ceremony was held at the Halkbank
Headquarters with the participation of His
Excellency Finance Minister, His Excellency
Minister of Transportation, Head of
Privatization Administration, Chairman of Türk
Telekom Board, General Manager of Türk Telekom,
Vice President of Saudi Oger, CEO of Ojer
Telekomünikasyon A.Ş., various senior
bureaucrats and representatives of private
sector and press and media.
The
privatization of Turk Telekom has been selected as the “Emerging Market
Deal
of the year” by Acquisition Monthly , the prestigous publication which dissects
the world of mergers, acquisitions and buy–outs by sector, country and company.
This is the first
time where a Turkish M&A and privatization deal has been internationally awarded.

Petrochemical Holding Consortium submitted the highest offer with $2,050
million in the auction on July 5, 2007 aiming to privatize 51 percent of
shares of Petkim Petrokimya Holding Co.
Socar&Turcas-Injaz
Consortium, Carmel-Limak Consortium, Zorlu Holding Corp, Hokan Chemicals
Consortium, Calik-IOCL Consortium, Naksan-Torunlar-Toray-Kiler Consortium
and Firat Plastik, Kaucuk Sanayi ve Ticaret Corp. were the other 7
companies/consortia participating in the tender.
