PRIVATIZATION |
Tender
Announcement was published from 20
February 2008 and the tender was
completed in May 16, 2008.
Privatization High Council had
approved the tender on September 19,
2008. In accordance with the
related laws (Constitution Law,
Privatisation Law) the final draft
of the Concession Agreement
submitted to the opinion of the
Council of State after being
initialled by the parties. After
receiving the Council of State’s
decision about Concession Agreement,
the highest bidder has been invited
to sign a contract. Closing
procedures are ongoing.

Specifications
of Port of Bandırma
GEOGRAPHICAL POSITION
Port of Bandırma is located in
the southern part of the Marmara Sea. It is
acting in a sense as an import and export door
for Marmara Region. The port has modern
infrastructure with two breakwaters which are
1000m. and 500m. long, and the width between
them is 225m. The port has connections to both
rail and highway networks.
PILOTAGE/TOWAGE SERVICES
The ships enter into or exit
from the Port of Bandırma are obliged to take
compulsory pilotage service. The ships up to
2000 GRT are not obliged to take towage service.
Pilotage and towage services are provided by
Port Authority for 24 hours.
SEA CRAFTS
There exist 1 pilotage boat, 3
tugboats, and 1 towage boat in the port.
EQUIPMENT FOR CARGO HANDLING
There exist 3 full
container forklifts with capacities of 25-42
tons, 1 empty container forklift with capacity
of 8 tons, 15 quay cranes with capacity of 3-35
tons, 6 mobile cranes with capacity of 5-25 tons,
5 standart forklifts and 14 small masted
forklifts, 3 palleted cranes, and 3 loaders in
the port.
BULK CARGO
On the berths
with the total length of 1315 m. and draft
between 8-12m., dry bulk cargo handling service
is given. Loading-unloading services are carried
out by quay cranes on the berths. The port has
both a corn silo with 34.000 tons capacity which
is owned by TMO (Turkish Grain Board) and has a
conveyor connection with the quay. |
