Plants within the Yarımca
Petrochemicals Complex as the first oil refinery by
Petkim Petrokimya Holding A.Ş had begun production
in 1970 producing petrochemical products.
Yarımca Petrochemicals complex was
completed by addition of Carbon Black, Styrene,
Polystyrene, DDB, BDX, SBR, CBR and castor oil
plants between 1972 and 1976.
The complex enjoyed its most
productive period between 1987 and 1990 linked to
developments took place in world petrochemical
industry, and has been going through tough times
since 1991 concurrently with world petrochemical
industry.
Chlorine Alkaline, Ethylene, Styrene,
LAB(DDB) Vinyl Chloride Monomer Polyvinyl Chloride,
Castor oil plants were shut down one by one between
1990 and 1995. Those plants were dismantled and land
the plants were sitting on is cleared up to be used
for new plants. Furthermore the PE, PVC and Vinyl
Chloride Monomer plants were shut down in 2001.
Acquired by Türkiye Petrol
Rafinerileri A.Ş. based on a decision of 2001/54
dated 05/10/2001 of the Higher Board of
Privatization, Yarımca Complex Plants continue their
operations in

CBR
KS
PS
BDX
Plants, factories and the associated
operational units this time under the name of Körfez
Petrochemical and Refinery Management.
